A session on career talk was held on 18 th July 18, 2022, in the Seminar Hall, for the students of STD IX and STD X.

A parent volunteer Ajjay Parge who is the Founder Director of Digital Art India Pvt. Ltd., and Digital Art VRe one of the leading organisations in 3D Visualization, AR/VR/Metaverse. He is also an active Skill committee member of MESC- AVGC-XR Task force gave a talk on Digital Art and 3D Visualisation.

He spoke about the animation, visual effects, gaming and comics (AVGC) industry has witnessed unprecedented growth rates in recent times. It has seen the entry of many global majors who have tapped into India’s talent pool for offshore delivery of services.

We got to know why AVGC in news. In the Budget 2022-23, the government announced to set up ‘Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics’ (AVGC) task force to “build domestic capacity to serve Indian markets and global demand.”

Mr. Parge explained about the importance of the AVGC Sector. It plays Larger Role in Meeting Global Demand.

It will prepare India to play a larger role in building Metaverse, help in catering to the Indian market and in meeting global demand.

A metaverse is a network of 3D virtual worlds focused on social connection and it can be defined as a simulated digital environment that uses Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and blockchain, along with concepts from social media, to create spaces for rich user interaction mimicking the real world.

It could also open up new avenues for players and platforms as well as formalise game art education since most in the industry learn experientially.

He also explained about the animation, is a method in which figures are manipulated to appear as moving images. In traditional animation, images are drawn or painted by hand on transparent celluloid sheets to be photographed and exhibited on film. Today, most animations are made with computer-generated imagery (CGI).
Visual effects (VFX) is the process through which imagery is altered, created, or enhanced for live-action media that could not be captured during live-action filming due to it being costly, dangerous, impractical, or impossible to shoot.

Mr. Parge explained the potential of animation in India, which commands around 10% of the global market share, has the potential to reach 20-25% by 2025, according to the latest media and entertainment industry report by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

He explained that does animation have a future in India? EY estimates that the animation sector will grow to 39.7 per cent in 2022 from 30.5 per cent in 2021. The sector grew by 24 per cent in 2021 to reach Rs 30.5 billion. The animation and VFX segment is expected to more than double in three years till 2024 to Rs 180 billion.

Also explained that animation a good career option in India. Animation is a satisfying and lucrative profession and is attracting youngsters in droves towards it. Professionals new to this industry generally work in the capacity of junior animators in animation studios and production houses.

Mr. Parge discussed about the trends in the gaming industry. He explained about Six video game trends transforming the industry include cloud gaming and streaming, digital distribution, business models such as free to play, increased diversity and audience, mobile gaming, and next-generation consoles.
