REPORT OF THE STD X PICNIC

Adventurous experiences out-of-doors are perceived to kindle the enthusiasm of the young, to develop their concern for others, for their community and for the environment. Such experiences provide the means of self-discovery, self-expression and enjoyment which are at
once both stimulating and fulfilling.

“It thus emerges that, for young people and adults alike, outdoor adventure is perceived as a vehicle for building values and ideals, for developing creativity and enterprise, for enhancing a sense of citizenship, and for widening physical and spiritual horizons.”-Lord Hunt of
Llanfair.

On the occasion of Children’s Day, the students of Std X went for a picnic to Magic Mountain in Lonavala on Monday, 14 th of November 2022. The Section Coordinator, the class teachers of all the four sections and volunteers of Trekfit Adventures accompanied the students. The students departed from school at 8a.m. On the way, students were served breakfast on the bus.

On reaching Magic Mountain, the students were segregated into groups according to their divisions. They enjoyed various rides such as Z Force, Air Force, Turbo Force, Mega Disco, Flying Carousel, Sky Screamer, Bumping Cars, Delta Hoppla, Space Trainer, Super Splash
and 5D.

A sumptuous lunch comprising fried rice, noodles, and pav bhaji with gulab jamun was served at 1p.m. The students relished the food. Post lunch the students again tried the different rides, and it was difficult to get them off the rides as they couldn’t get enough of them.

High tea was served at 4.30p.m and students had samosas with Frooti packs distributed in the buses on their return journey back to school.

After two years of online classes and no picnics, the children were pleased and excited to let their hair down. This being the last picnic of their high school life, the students were highly appreciative of the rush of adrenaline they experienced at the amusement park. The students
were disciplined and behaved well and returned to school tired but content with their day out in the sun.
