Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Pune has one more feather in its cap as it was one of the reputed schools chosen to conduct the Mock G20 Summit at its campus on Monday, 20th June 2023.
The objective of this summit was to prepare students to deliberate on the global issues, the world is currently grappling with. It offered an opportunity for the students to showcase India’s leading role, particularly at a time when almost all nations are confronting multiple geopolitical and economic crises. The theme of India’s G20 presidency is ‘ Vasudhaiva Kutumbkum’ One Earth One Family One Future.
As part of this summit, there were twenty students chosen as delegates for 20 different countries. They were supposed to express their views and deliberate on a variety of global issues. The topics were given by the education department, government of Maharashtra.
The summit took place at the Multiple Purpose Hall of the school from 11am to 1pm. The protocols laid down by the government were strictly followed to carry out this summit. The topics given to the countries were relevant and realistic. In a short period, students prepared themselves very well and made this conference an enriching experience for everyone including the Class IX students who were the audience for this event
The event was attended by Dr Ashok Vikhe Patil, Chairman Dr. Vikhe Patil Foundation and the Secretary, Dr Manoj Narawde. Many government officers were in attendance and expressed their happiness over the way this event was organized.
