Objectives of the activity:
1. To reinforce the awareness towards reusing the available resources amongst students.
2. To reiterate the importance of sustainable and biodegradable resources and recycling
3. To inculcate team spirit and dignity of labour
REuse, REcycle, REfuse has become the necessity of recent times. In sync with the above mantra, the students of Class 6 were motivated to use only paper bags as its highly environment friendly. To underline the importance of sustainable resources, the young minds were encouraged ‘to learn by doing’. Paper bags are made out of renewable material and these are biodegradable and recyclable. So, we should always use paper bags and stop encouraging the use of plastic carry bags as paper bags can save the environment.
Students were guided and encouraged by the teachers to produce good quality bags as far as possible. They came up with creative ideas to create colourful paper bags in different shapes and sizes.
Students seemed to be highly motivated and excited as this was a HOUSE-WISE group activity. It was a learning curve with an element of fun in it.
