French National Day – 14 th July 2023
Special Assembly and French Meal
Vikhe Patil Memorial School celebrated Bastille Day in the school by conducting a special assembly that was presented by students of standard 9-10. The special assembly put together by these students was all about understanding the facts and activities that led to the celebration of the Bastille Day in France. This assembly commenced with Facts and News about France and a thought in French language.
Further, standard X C students Yuvika Rajput and Anvi Mulchandani put up a skit based on pronunciations in English and French. This act entertained everyone. It was interesting to see the reactions of students pursuing French language. It was followed by a very famous French song Champs-Elysées which was performed by the students of standard IX and X. The assembly concluded with ‘La Marseillaise’ – the national anthem. It was presented by the students of standard IX and X.
Today’s French menu got overwhelming response. It was the highlight of this celebration. The students could savor the subtle taste French cuisine.
The students of Std VI, VII and VIII decorated their classroom boards with various topics like – cartoons, important cities of France. They also watched small videos showcasing various aspects of France including brief overview on famous cycling competition Le Tour de France which takes place in July every year.
This event was a learning experience for all about the French culture.
