Participants – Students of grade 1 to 3
Objective –
1. To make students understand the significance of torans, diyas and greeting cards in various Indian festivals and celebrations.
2. To help students develop fine motor skills through tasks such as colouring, decorating, sticking, threading etc.
3. To encourage students to express their creativity and imagination.
The festival of Diwali is just around the corner. Such activities encourage the students to incorporate their own ideas and artistic flair. Understanding the cultural significance of torans, diyas etc in India, particularly during festivals and celebrations, through art and craft
activities was indeed a great idea.
Students enjoyed making the diyas, greeting cards and torans. They felt a sense of accomplishment when they saw the beautifully decorated items made by them.
