Report on Career Guidance Session
Resource Person: Ms. Bhakti Shah
In alignment with our ongoing career guidance sessions planned monthly for students, Ms. Bhakti Shah, an esteemed alumna of our institution, conducted an insightful session for students of Classes X to XII. The session focused on unconventional career paths identified
by the World Economic Forum as emerging careers of the future.
Ms. Shah has over 17 years of experience in K-12 and higher education. She is the Founder of The Outreach Collective (TOC), a not-for-profit association dedicated to advancing innovation and capacity building within the education ecosystem. She is a passionate advocate for universities as knowledge ecosystems that play a crucial role in fostering both local and global community growth.
During the session, Ms. Shah emphasized the importance of skill enhancement to align with future career opportunities. She referred to the World Economic Forums list of emerging careers, highlighting the significance of social engagement and interaction in increasing
visibility and employability. Skills such as empathy, traditionally viewed as values, were portrayed as marketable assets in todays job market.
Ms. Shah introduced students to many unconventional careers, including roles such as Drone Traffic Optimizer, Smart Home Design Manager, and Algorithm Bias Auditor. Her deep connection with the audience, as an alumna, made the session particularly engaging and
relatable. The interactive nature of the presentation ensured that students found the session both informative and thought-provoking.
Overall, the session was a resounding success, providing valuable insights into the evolving landscape of future careers and inspiring students to think critically about their skill development and career paths.
