Hindi Diwas, or Hindi Language Day, is celebrated in India every year on 14 th September. This day commemorates the adoption of Hindi as one of the official languages of the Republic of India on September 14, 1949.
Hindi is one of the most spoken languages in the world, with over 425 million native speakers. It is also the official language of India, Nepal, Fiji, and Surinam and Bangladesh. Hindi Diwas is an important day for India, as it helps to promote the use and preservation of the Hindi language. It is also a day to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of India.
The students of Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Pune celebrated Hindi Diwas in the school to mark the importance of the country’s most widely spoken language with much enthusiasm. Students across grades I to XI participated in the programme.
The celebrations started with an assembly where the thought for the day and news in Hindi was followed by a poem recitation on the importance of the Hindi language by the students of Std. VII. Adding grandeur to the programme was a recital of poems of famous poets in Hindi Literature by the students of Std III following the same was a graceful dance performance by the students of Std. II. A Nukkad Natak was presented by Std. XI students followed by a few amazing facts to tickle the young minds. A humorous skit was presented by the students of Std. IV and V. Students and teachers encouraged everyone in the school to use Hindi as the medium of conversation through the day.
The icing to the cake was a sumptuous and delectable meal.
When it comes to celebrating special days, our Principal Ms. Mrinalini always encourages students and provides them a platform to showcase their talents through ideas, views and creativity in various forms. We owe a sincere gratitude to the school management and our ever-supportive Principal for helping us make this day a grand success
