November 14, 2024

“The children of today will make the India of tomorrow. The way we bring them up will determine the future of the country.”
– Jawaharlal Nehru

Children’s Day is celebrated annually on November 14 to honor the birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. This day holds special significance as it is a tribute to his deep affection and love for children. The celebration aims to highlight the
importance of children in shaping the future of the nation, and this year, the school marked the occasion with an engaging and creative programme for students.

The celebration commenced with a special assembly for students across all grade levels. The assembly began with a brief reflection on the significance of Children’s Day, emphasizing on the importance of nurturing children as the foundation for a better tomorrow. The teachers of the Lower Primary Section set the tone of the event with an uplifting performance, singing the popular English song, “Top of the World.” This musical piece filled the school with joy and excitement, creating a lively atmosphere for the day.

The real highlight of the day came with the interactive craft activities organized for the younger students of Classes I–III. These activities were designed to foster creativity, self- expression, and a sense of individuality.

Students of Std.1 participated in a crown/tiara decoration activity, where they adorned paper crowns with colorful stickers, gems, and glitter. The joy and pride on the childrens faces as they completed their crowns were heartwarming, as they took ownership of their creations.
The students of Std.2 enjoyed join-the-dots and colouring activity, where they created colorful designs by connecting the dots and coloring in the pictures.
Students of Std.3 were involved in a fun-filled team poster colouring activity, where groups of students worked together to decorate large posters with vibrant colors and imaginative designs. The collective effort and collaboration among the students were truly inspiring.

Additionally, students from Classes I to III participated in activity-of-the-month projects:
 Class I: Show and Tell
 Class II: Wall Hangings on Grammar Topics
 Class III: Grammar Models based on the WOW Grammar and Composition Textbook

The aim of these activities was not just to entertain the children, but to make them feel valued and special on this important day. The overall objective was to encourage students to engage in creative endeavors that would foster their imagination, teamwork, and confidence. The smiles and laughter that echoed through the classrooms reflected the positive impact of these hands-on experiences. Through this celebration, the school was able to make children feel special and valued, creating lasting memories of joy and camaraderie. Happy Children’s Day!
