VPMS bagged third prize at the Young Explorer Science Project competition

Out of 350 science projects, Om Kasangottuwar, Hriday Ralegankar, and Nandan Mutha’s (Std IX) group from Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Pune, bagged the third prize for their working model of an “Inclusive walker cum Wheelchair” at the Inter school Young explorer
project competition-2025 organized by Muktangan Exploratory science center on 18 th and 19th January 2025.

Over more than 50 schools participated and showcased amazing models from all over Pune city. Over 70 projects from the senior category were presented, and over 1000 visitors, students, teachers, and media came to view and review the projects. This competition was
conducted in multiple rounds: idea submission, Interview, video, and final round at Muktangan. A total of 10 projects were selected from Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Pune, from the junior and senior categories.

The “Inclusive walker cum wheelchair” model was highly appreciated by the visitors and judges for its innovation and use for old and physically challenged people. Students received a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 2100 from Yashwant Gupta sir, an Indian astrophysicist
and a Scientist at the National Centre for Radio Astrophysics (NCRA). It was a highly enriching experience for the students.

It is only because of the encouragement of the Principal and Management that the students are able to take advantage and participate in such activities and gain valuable experiences.
