“When the body is calm, the mind sings. When the soul is joyful, the world dances. Mental health is learning the rhythm in between.”
On 19th June, our school joyfully celebrated World Music Day and International Yoga Day, immersing the entire campus in a unique blend of wellness and creativity. The day was a heartfelt tribute to two universal languages — yoga, which aligns the body and mind, and music, which connects souls across cultures.
This year’s Yoga Day was especially significant as it embraced the powerful theme “One Earth, One Health”, echoing the Indian philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam — the world is one family. This theme emphasized that personal well-being is deeply interconnected with the health of our environment and the community. It reminded students that caring for our bodies through yoga also encourages us to be more mindful of our surroundings, reinforcing the holistic principle of living in harmony with nature.
️ Morning Assembly – A Harmonious Beginning
The celebration began with a special morning assembly delivered through the PA music system, setting a peaceful and inspiring tone for the day. The assembly included:
The school prayer, followed by a deeply reflective Thought for the Day, which was thoughtfully explained to emphasize the relevance of inner balance through yoga and the emotional upliftment that music brings.
Students shared interesting and educational facts about meditation, yoga, and sound healing, with a special focus on renowned centers in Pune that promote wellness and mindfulness. One of the highlights was a heartfelt performance by the students of Std VI. Their song, “Saat
Suron Ki Ek Ladi”, celebrated the unifying power of music. Applause echoed through the assembly as students harmonized notes with emotion and grace. Students from Std 1 to Std XII participated in chair yoga and guided meditation sessions along with the appointed class
leaders and class teachers within their classrooms. These practices promoted mental clarity, body awareness, and emotional regulation — essential for both personal health and contributing to a peaceful society. It was followed by School song and National anthem.
On account of the World Music Day, the activity for the month of June for Std IV & V was -: Swaranjali…. A tribute to musical icons. The activity was organized as a musical event aiming to expose them to diverse musical genres and instil an appreciation for cultural heritage.
In Primary school Std I,II & III ,students crafted small, easy-to-carry models of musical instruments and spoke a few lines about them, highlighting their features and importance. Some students also dressed up to represent famous musical personalities—such as singers,
composers, or lyricists—using simple props and accessories. Special performances were also held in the multipurpose hall by choir students.
•Special sessions were arranged for the office and foundation staff in the multipurpose hall.
•A thoughtful yoga experience was also provided for housekeeping and transport staff, emphasizing the school's inclusive spirit.
Through these sessions, students learned that yoga is not just an exercise, but a lifestyle — one that cultivates a sense of responsibility towards oneself, others, and the planet.
The physical environment of the school was transformed to reflect the dual celebrations:
The entrance board was adorned with vibrant artwork and posters created by students, celebrating the themes of “One Earth, One Health” and the universality of music.
The combined celebration of World Music Day and International Yoga Day 2025 was more than a series of events — it was a call to conscious living. By embracing the theme “One Earth, One Health”, our school not only encouraged personal wellness, but also reinforced the value of collective responsibility towards society and the environment.
This day served as a memorable reminder that music and yoga are not just practices, but pathways to peace, purpose, and planetary health.
