The students of Grades I, II and III presented a musical dance drama, ‘Pine to Pinocchio’ – a tale which reminds us that the journey to becoming our best selves begins with the choices we make. The story began with a scene of a starry night, where Geppetto wishes for a child of his own. Touched by his love, the Blue Fairy brings Pinocchio to life. Guided by Jiminy, his cheerful and wise conscience, Pinocchio sets off eagerly to explore the world. His journey included drama, lively music and graceful dances. In the end, it is Pinocchio’s love for his father, his honesty and his courage to do what is right makes the Blue Fairy grant him his deepest wish – to be a real boy.
The colourful costumes, perfect makeup, creatively done props, and the perfect selection of visuals that ran as a backdrop on the LED screen transformed the audience into the world of Pinocchio. The practice and hard work put in by the students and the teamwork of staff, planning and execution by the section coordinator and the continuous support of Ms. Mrinalini Fernandes, Principal, VPMS, Pune, facilitated the smooth functioning of the programme.
The main objective of this activity was to develop life skills such as teamwork, communication and confidence.
The ‘Annual Cultural Day ‘was not only a break from the routine but also promoted creativity and unity. All the students, parents and staff enjoyed the programme and took back fond memories.
