Senior School Sports Day Report

Venue: Vikhe Patil Memorial School Ground

The Senior School Annual Sports Meet of Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Pune was held on 22nd December 2025 with great enthusiasm and active participation. The programme began with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Lt. Gen. Ajai Kumar Singh (Retd.), who was accorded a Guard of Honour and a ceremonial salute. The Torch Run, led by the school’s State and National-level sportspersons, symbolised unity, determination, and the spirit of sportsmanship, marking the formal inauguration of the event.

This was followed by an impressive March Past by the four houses—Emerald, Ruby, Coral, and Sapphire—accompanied by the school band. The disciplined movements of students from Classes 9 to 12 reflected teamwork, coordination, and pride. The Sports Meet was formally declared open by the Chief Guest, followed by the oath-taking ceremony, the School Anthem, felicitation of dignitaries, and the presentation of the Annual Sports Report.

The audience was enthralled by a series of drills and displays by students of Classes 6 to 8, including a rhythmic scarf drill, Taekwondo, Yoga, Gymnastics, and Mallakhamb, which showcased agility, strength, balance, and India’s traditional sporting culture. The NCC Drill stood out for its precision, discipline, and patriotic spirit, leaving a lasting impression on all present.

The competitive segment of the meet included various track and relay events across Under 12, 14, 17, and 19 categories. The young athletes displayed exceptional speed, stamina, and determination. The Chief Guest later addressed the gathering, motivating students with his inspiring thoughts on leadership, perseverance, and holistic development.

The programme concluded with the Prize Distribution Ceremony, honouring individual champions, relay winners, March Past winners, and the Best House, followed by the Vote of Thanks, Beating the Retreat by the band, the National Anthem, and dispersal. The 34th Annual Sports Meet was a grand success, reinforcing the school’s commitment to nurturing discipline, teamwork, and excellence, and truly upholding its motto, “Making Life Meaningful.”
