The Roots and Riches Club of Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Pune, organized an educational visit to Bhuleshwar Temple near Yavat on Saturday, 24th January 2026, with the objective of familiarizing students with Maharashtra’s rich architectural and cultural heritage.

The group departed from school in the morning under the supervision of teachers and reached the temple after a journey of approximately two hours. Bhuleshwar Temple, believed to date back to the 13th century, is an excellent example of ancient temple architecture and is renowned for its intricate carvings and historical significance.

During the visit, students observed the unique architectural features of the temple, including stone sculptures, pillars, and motifs that reflect the craftsmanship of the period. Teachers briefed the students about the historical background of the temple, its cultural importance, and the impact of invasions that led to partial damage of the sculptures. This discussion helped students understand the need for heritage conservation and preservation.

Students explored the temple premises with great interest and actively participated in discussions by asking questions and sharing observations. The serene surroundings and panoramic view from the temple site added to the overall learning experience.

The visit concluded by noon, and the group returned to school safely as scheduled. The educational tour proved to be informative and enriching, strengthening students’ appreciation for India’s ancient monuments and reinforcing the objectives of experiential learning promoted by the Roots and Riches Club.

Overall, the visit to Bhuleshwar Temple was a meaningful experience that deepened students’ connection with history and encouraged respect for India’s cultural heritage.
