
Report on the Motivational Talk Session

A motivational talk was organized for the students of Standard IX and XI with the objective of inspiring them to think creatively, build confidence, and understand the importance of perseverance in life. The session was delivered by Shantanu Deshpande, a distinguished alumnus of our school. Shantanu Deshpande is a Founder and CEO of Visage Lines Personal Care Pvt Ltd. Beyond operating and investing, Shantanu is deeply engaged in building India’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. He hosts The ‘Barbershop with Shantanu’, one of India’s leading entrepreneurship podcasts, and Asymmetric, a platform exploring startups, investing, and asymmetric thinking. He has also launched initiatives focused on helping young people in Maharashtra understand entrepreneurship in their native language
During the session, Mr. Shantanu shared his entrepreneurial journey and explained how his company owns well-known personal care brands like Bombay Shaving Company and Bombae. He highlighted how the company has grown to become the second-largest shaving and trimming brand in India, with a business scale of over ₹600 crores, through innovation, consistency, and customer-centric thinking.
He emphasized the importance of self-belief, discipline, and learning from failures. He encouraged students to focus on skill development, stay curious, and not be afraid of challenges. Real-life examples from his journey made the talk engaging and relatable for students.
He also spoke about India’s growing D2C (Direct-to-Consumer) ecosystem and how youthful ideas, strong design, and brand building play a crucial role in success. Students were motivated to think beyond marks and explore their interests with passion and dedication. The session was both inspiring and thought-provoking, leaving students motivated, confident, and reflective about their own potential and responsibilities.
The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer round, where students actively participated and shared their thoughts. Overall, the motivational talk was highly inspiring and informative. It left a positive impact on the students and encouraged them to dream big and work hard to achieve their goals.
