Club Report: Dramatics Dreamers

To prove that all the world’s a stage, the students of Dramatics Dreamers club participated in a workshop that saw two eminent resource persons addressing them. Prateek Puri, a playwright and an actor commenced the first session with orienting students with the fundamentals of script writing. His presentation encompassed the basics of script writing, structure, target audience, creating compelling characters and storyline, the genre, dialogues etc.
In session II Madhura Joshi, a Bharatnatyam dancer and an artist taught students the nuances of acting. Through her presentation she gave an insight into topics like Acting, types of acting, scope, diction/ dialogue delivery etc. She focussed on character development and emotional expression.
The session summed up with students presenting small group acts that were written, directed and performed by the student themselves.
The activity achieved its objectives by providing valuable insights and skills to the participants. The collaborative environment and the engaging activities by the resource persons encouraged creativity and learning, with participants expressing eagerness for future workshops. The students, apart from sharing their writings with the resource persons, also took their autographs. The session wrapped up by thanking the resource person through the vote of thanks.
