Field Trip Report
Std II
2023- 2024
“Play is the highest form of research.”
Games are a fantastic medium of learning at any age, but they are particularly important for young learners. Research has shown that games are essential for healthy development in early childhood and beyond. Keeping this in mind, a field trip was arranged on Monday, 29th January for the students of Std II. As an extension to the topic “Having Fun” they were taken to Balasaheb Thackrey Garden during the school hours.
155 students, accompanied by 4 teachers and an ancillary, reported at the park at 9:30am. The main objective of this trip was to explain the importance of outdoor activities for our physical, mental and social wellbeing.
The fun began with invigorating nature walk through the scenic beauty of the garden. Students had the opportunity to observe the natural surroundings. They also tried the equipment placed in the open gym to understand the importance of various exercises. Then they were taken to the play area where they thoroughly enjoyed playing on slides, swings, see saw etc and played some team games as well. After free play, children enjoyed their snacks and at 11:00 am, headed back to the school after a fun filled experience.
This trip underscored the importance of outdoor activities in promoting holistic development. The experience provided students with a newfound appreciation for nature, improved physical and mental well-being, and valuable life skills that extend beyond the classroom.
This trip served as a reminder that learning can extend far beyond the confines of four walls. Overall, it was a great learning experience for all the students.
