French National Day Celebration – Year 2025-26

French National Day –
The French National Day was celebrated with lot of enthusiasm on 14th July 2025. Commonly known as ‘The Bastille Day’ in English, this day also signifies The French Revolution. We conduct various activities in our school which encourages our students and help in learning and exploring a foreign language.
The event started with a special Assembly. The French Language teachers and the students of Grade VIII and Grade X together worked to organise this special day. Thought for the day, Importance of the Day and the Frech News were carefully chosen by Grade X students. The
recitation of a thoughtfully selected French poem was done by Grade VIII students. Singing was an opportunity for the students to learn the typical French accents and pronunciation. The famous foot tapping FIFA song ‘Feel the magic in the air’ really set the mood.
To prepare the French Day Boards students got the opportunity to take a quick tour of French aspects. It evoked a high level of interest in the students. They explored various topics like famous French brands in fashion industry, wristwatches, pens, perfumes, wines, cheese and also not very talked about products. The students also looked in to the brands available in India such as Micheline tires, Rafael, Danone yogurt, Decathlon, Chanel, Estée Lauder etc. Celebrating French National Day is not only to promote a language but to promote enthusiasm and positive impact on their learning and intercultural understanding.
A special menu was planned to complement this event. This year the canteen area was set in blue, white and red colours to welcome the food enthusiasts. Moreover, the music was in the air when the French choir was singing during special meal time.
The event emphasised on respect for other cultures.
