French National Day –
The French National Day was celebrated on 14th July 2025. This day commemorates the Storming of the Bastille in 1789. ‘The Bastille Day’ marks the turning point of the French Revolution.
The event started with a Special Class Assembly. The French Language teachers and the students of Grade VII, VIII and Grade IX together worked to organise this special day. Thought for the day, Importance of the Day, the Frech News were carefully chosen by the students. The students delivered a beautiful recitation of a thoughtfully chosen French poem ‘La vie / The Life’ written by Mother Teresa. This poem is an inspirational poem which expresses her timeless wisdom.
While learning a foreign language students explore and come get to know more about other country’s culture, geographical aspects, life, people etc. To give a quick ride through these aspects, few short films showcasing famous French products, fashion, perfumes, wines, cheese. The students watched short films like Noël in France, Shopping like Parisian, Caillou and also Champs-Elysées song. Celebrating French National Day is not only to promote a language but to promote enthusiasm and positive impact on their learning and intercultural understanding.
A special menu was planned to complement this event. The students enjoyed the French meal menu and particularly relished the tricolour cupcakes.
The event encouraged students to respect and appreciate other cultures.
