Name of the Activity: Quesadillas A lip Smacking Vegetarian Mexican Dish –Served with
Chilled Salsa
Objectives of the Activity:
 To reflect the vibrancy and diversity of the Mexican culture.
 To make them aware of the ingredients used in Mexican cooking and traditional Mexican
menus.
 To make them understand that all cultures use food as a means of celebration.
 To develop their fine motor skills and explore their senses.
 To provide an environment for students to socialize, be creative, learn cooking skills, and
have fun.
Activity Plan: Saturday – 26 th August 2023.
 Assembly and attendance of the students.
 Introduction of the chief guest- Chef Karan Aurora
 Demo by the chief guest.
 Making of the recipes by the students- Quesadillas and Salsa

“Mexican food is one of the best culinary experience that people can have”

The students of Gourmet Central Club assembled in the skating area for attendance. They were introduced to the chief guest Chef Karan Aurora. He is currently working as faculty for ‘Baking’ at MSIHMCT Pune. He briefed the students about the Mexican recipes –
‘Quesadillas and Salsa’, the ingredients and substitutes that can be used in the making of the recipes. The entire recipes were shared to the students in detail.
Later, he demonstrated the students on the chopping of vegetables, kneading of flour, blanching of tomatoes for the recipes. They learnt how to make tortillas and salsa. The students enthusiastically participated in making of the recipes and relished the recipes shared with them. They learnt how hard work enhances concentration, develops fine motor skills and eye hand concentration, peer learning and teamwork.
