As a part of our Environmental Studies (EVS) curriculum on “Our Neighbourhood,” the students of Grade 2 visited Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Udyan in Kothrud. The objective of this field trip was to provide the students with a hands-on learning experience about the elements of a neighbourhood and the importance of community spaces.
The garden, known for its serene environment and child-friendly facilities, provided an enriching outdoor experience for the young minds.
Highlights of the Trip:
1. Animal Statues:
The children were thrilled to see the life-sized animal statues scattered around the garden. These statues not only added a touch of adventure but also served as educational tools, sparking curiosity and discussions about wildlife.
2. Play Area:
The play area was undoubtedly the students favourite spot. Equipped with swings, slides, and climbing structures, it offered a fun-filled environment where the children could play to their hearts content. Their laughter and joyful screams echoed throughout the garden.
3. Big Lawn:
The expansive lawn provided a perfect setting for a picnic. It was a great space for various group activities, including games like fire in the mountain, hide and seek, dog and the bone etc. Throughout the trip, the students displayed excellent behavior, showcasing their excitement and eagerness to explore the natural surroundings. The teachers guided the children, ensuring their safety while allowing them the freedom to enjoy the diverse amenities of the garden.
This field trip to Bhimsen Joshi Udyan was a memorable experience for the grade 2 students. It not only offered a break from the classroom routine but also provided them with an opportunity to bond with their peers, learn about nature, and enjoy outdoor play. The smiles on their faces at the end of the day were a testament to the success of the outing.
