A Grandparents’ Reflection Session was organized by the School Counsellors, Ms. Sucheta Mithari and Ms. Mrunmayee Harshe, with the objective of fostering intergenerational understanding and strengthening the family support system for students. The session aimed to promote alignment between parents and grandparents in the areas of emotional development, value formation, and habit building, thereby contributing to the holistic growth of learners.

The session commenced with a structured reflective prompt inviting participants to share their perspectives on contemporary parenting practices. This facilitated constructive dialogue and encouraged thoughtful participation.

A curated video presentation titled “Glimpses of Love & Gratitude” was screened, featuring students expressing appreciation for their grandparents. The presentation reinforced the emotional significance of grandparents in a child’s developmental journey and created a meaningful connection among participants.

The central segment, “Golden Wisdom Circle,” enabled guided discussion on evolving parenting trends, the importance of consistency within the home environment, respectful collaboration across generations, and the constructive role of grandparents in nurturing discipline, values, and emotional stability. The discussion was conducted in a respectful and inclusive atmosphere, allowing participants to share experiences in English, Marathi, or Hindi as per their comfort.

The session concluded with consolidated takeaways emphasizing the need for unified family approaches, adaptability to changing societal and technological contexts, consistency in decision-making (“One Home – One Policy”), and the importance of providing emotional security to children. Participants acknowledged the relevance of shared responsibility in supporting children’s overall well-being.

The active presence and interaction of Principal Ma’am Mrunalini further enriched the session and underscored the institution’s commitment to collaborative family engagement and holistic student development.

The initiative effectively strengthened the partnership between school and family, reinforcing the role of grandparents as vital contributors to the emotional and value-based foundation of students.
