Date: Saturday, 28th April 2024
Venue: V D classroom
Objectives of the Activity:
1. To introduce students to the art of tie and dye, fostering an appreciation for traditional textile techniques.
2. To encourage creativity and self-expression through hands-on fabric design and crafting.
3. To promote sustainable practices by using eco-friendly materials such as cotton tote bags.
On Saturday, 28th April 2024, The Creative Corner, our vibrant Handicraft Club, organized a delightful session filled with colours, creativity, and care. The day’s activities focused on the popular art of tie and dye, where participants personalized eco-friendly tote bags with vibrant patterns and colours. The session was conducted by Ms. Kalyani Shah, a skilled and passionate resource person, who guided the students through the intricate process of tie and dye and shared tips on creating beautiful, symmetrical patterns. Her engaging teaching
style and expertise made the learning experience both educational and enjoyable. This hands-on experience introduced students to the basics of colour blending and fabric art, encouraging artistic expression through a sustainable medium.
Adding a thoughtful touch to the event, members also created a “Birdie Dangler” – a charming handmade craft designed to be gifted for Mother’s Day. The danglers, made with love and attention to detail, reflected the spirit of gratitude and affection, making them meaningful keepsakes.
To recognize the creativity and enthusiasm of the participants, all students were awarded certificates at the end of the session. This gesture encouraged their artistic efforts and celebrated their dedication to learning a new skill. The session was a blend of fun and learning, leaving everyone with not just beautiful creations but also a sense of pride in their handmade gifts. The Creative Corner proved to be a space where imagination takes flight and crafts come alive.
