“Fairy tales have a hidden power, and their appeal never ends. They are the best way to get messages across.” – Michel Ocelot
The most and much awaited time of the year, the celebration of the Annual Cultural Festival at Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Pune, commenced on 19 th October 2024 and spanned across for a week. Every student in VPMS had a reason to smile, as the Annual Days celebrated were a grand success and everyone enjoyed them thoroughly!
The Annual Day 2024-25 for the Lower Primary Section was held on two days. Students of Sections A, B and selected students of Section C performed on Monday, 21 st October 2024 and the students of Sections D, E and selected students of Section C performed on Tuesday,
22 nd October 2024 at the VPMS Pune Amphitheatre with passion, enthusiasm and zeal. The programme commenced with the felicitation of the eminent Chief Guests, Mrs. Daphne Bhalerao and Mrs. Malati Kalmadi and other dignitaries. Mr. Ashok Vikhe Patil, Chairman,
Dr. Vikhe Patil Foundation, Mrs. Nandini Vikhe Patil, Director, Schools Programme, Dr. Vikhe Patil Foundation, along with other board members, Principals of other sister concerns and Principal, Ms. Mrinalini B, graced the occasion.
Distinguished guests and dignitaries, elite guardians and parents embarked on this cultural extravaganza, celebrating the universal language of music and drama that transcends and connects hearts and witnessed a spectacular culmination of colourful dances with a powerful
drama which served as a narrative that gave an insight into the fairytale that gave a strong message in a fantastical setting teaching us invaluable lessons about kindness, friendship, and the power of compassion..
The students of Grades I, II and III presented a musical dance drama, ‘Snow White With A Twist’. The otherwise known fairytale was made all the more interesting and captivating by giving it a different ending (a twist). A great twist genuinely surprises the audience and turns
their whole understanding of the story. To do so convincingly, it takes proper organization and a thorough understanding of the motivations behind every choice that the characters make. Twists are powerful because they keep the audience actively engaged.
The hard work and practice put in by the students and the team spirit and diligence of the staff, planning by the section co-ordinator and the able guidance and continuous support of Ms. Mrinalini B, Principal, VPMS, Pune, was evident through the remarkable presentation,
thus facilitating smooth functioning of the program.
The creatively done props, the carefully crafted costumes, the apt makeup and hairdos and the perfect selection of visuals that ran as a backdrop on the LED screen, added glamour to the ensemble and created a world that is imaginative but believable and aesthetically pleasing. The cheering and applauding audience proved that the magical performance was truly enthralling and absorbing.
The Annual Day celebrations culminated creating many indelible memories to last for a lifetime for one and all who were a part of the programme in one way or the other.
