Topic: Meet the Heroes.
“Patriotism does not always mean to sacrifice our life but it means to live for the country.”
Our ancestors left behind the legacy of patriotism depicting “Watan ke Aage kuch bhi nahi, khud bhi nahi.” India with its rich heritage and vast history is a country full of stories filled with bravery, courage, patriotism and human values, keeping this in mind, students of Vikhe Patil Memorial school, Pune reminisced our unsung freedom fighters.
The activity of the month, ‘MEET THE HEROES” was conducted on Monday, 22 nd August as a tribute to our freedom fighters. The students of lower primary were dressed up in costumes of various freedom fighters of their choice and spoke few lines on what they did and what they felt about their struggle. Some students also presented poems on Sarojini Naidu, Swatantraveer Savarkar, Rani Laxmibai, Durgadevi Vora, etc. The slogans of freedom fighters were rendered with so much of enthusiasm that the whole atmosphere filled with pride.
As Mahatma Gandhi said, “The future depends on what we do in present” hence Vpms believes to sow seeds of faithfulness today, for a loyal tomorrow. Such kind of activities help us and our children to always remember the great contribution of our heroes in the past and develop more sense of taking our legacy of nationalism ahead from generations to generations.
