To commemorate India’s assuming presidency of G20, an exhibition of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) has been organised by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the CBSE board in the sprawling campus of Savitribai Phule Pune University from the 17th June to 22nd June 2023.
The students of classes 6, 7 and 8 along with the class teachers were taken to the G20 exhibition on 20th June 2023 that showcased the initiatives of FLN in the context of blended learning. The students got the opportunity to see the attractive display of various education initiatives that have been put up by all the G20 countries as well as the States and UTs of India.
Over a hundred exhibitors including esteemed organizations such as UNICEF, NCERT, National Book Trust and Indian Knowledge System Divisions (IKS) put up diverse initiatives promoting education from multilingual education to skill development under the theme of ‘Ensuring Foundation Literacy and Numeracy with blended learning’.
The objective of the visit was acquainting students with various learning approaches for FLN in a blended mode to enable all children to read and respond with comprehension, independently write with understanding, develop number sense, mathematical thinking, problem solving and reasoning
