Excelling in Competency-Based Questions
Competency-based questions are designed to evaluate not just your knowledge but also your ability to apply that knowledge in practical scenarios. To excel in these questions with Flashcardz, it’s essential to understand the nature of competency-based assessments and how to
prepare effectively. Keeping in mind this aspect a workshop was conducted at Vikhe Patil Memorial School Pune for the students of class IX and X. Mr. Nitin Kulkarni, founder of Flascardz was the resource person for this workshop. He is an alumnus of IIT Delhi and is
passionate about Mathematics and Science.
The objective of this workshop was to enable students to understand how competency-based questions assess skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork. They are structured to evaluate how well you can demonstrate these competencies in real-world situations. Mastery of these questions is crucial for demonstrating readiness for higher education and future career opportunities.
The resource person highlighted the importance of these questions in the examination and suggested ways to deal with these questions. He made the session very interactive, informative and interesting. Techniques used by him were very useful both for students and teachers.
As part of some of the techniques he insisted on familiarizing yourself with different competencies and what each entails. He further explained how to practice the application of these competencies in various scenarios using Flashcardz tools. Moreover, the resource person
highlighted the importance of focus and meditation in dealing with these questions. Additionally, he encouraged students to incorporate examples from their experiences or studies to illustrate their competencies effectively.
Finally, he stressed on the fact that the consistent study and practice are key to mastering competency-based questions. Utilize Flashcardz features such as quizzes and flashcards to reinforce your understanding and prepare for assessments.
To summarize the workshop Mr. Kulkarni said ‘by leveraging these strategies and tools provided by Flashcardz, you can confidently approach competency-based questions, showcase your abilities, and achieve success in your academic and professional endeavors’.
On the whole, this workshop was very useful in every respect and was very well received by the students.
