UPS Activity of the Month – August- Patriotic Impressions
Date- 7 th August, 2023
With Independence Day just about a week away, ‘Patriotic Impressions’ was the theme of the activities planned for the students of the Upper Primary Section.
Art and craft is a great way to portray one’s creativity and expression. The main objective of these activities was to instil a strong patriotic fervour amongst the students.
India has many national symbols with which it identifies itself and takes pride in them. These symbols have been chosen from India’s unique flora and fauna, its culture and civilisation. These symbols are intrinsic to the Indian identity and heritage. The students of Std IV, crafted intricate models of different national symbols. Eco-friendly raw materials ranging from paper to clay were used to make the models. Through the activity the students got a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the different national symbols of their country.
The students of Std V also displayed their creative skills by creating tricoloured craft items such as badges, decorative streamers, wall-hangings and floral arrangements. Each creation was unique in its own way and reflected the diligence and earnestness with which it was made. The ocean of tri-coloured creations were a true tribute to the ‘tiranga’.
The activities were an absolute success. The enthusiasm displayed by the students was overwhelming. It was a true celebration of the essence of being an Indian.
