Report for STD IX Road safety Awareness
Date: 30th January 2026
Venue: Senapati Bapat Road Pune
“Road safety is a state of mind, accident is an absence of mind.” Road safety is not just about infrastructure, but about cultivating a sense of duty and responsibility in every citizen. Schools are the nursery where these values must be planted. To actively contribute to this national cause, students of STD IX of Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Pune voluntarily joined the National Road Safety Mission for Schools (2025-26) programme initiated by CBSE to support the vision of a disciplined and developed India (Viksit Bharat).
On 30th January, 2026 the students carried out the Road Safety Awareness Program at Senapati Bapat Road near the Patrakar Nagar traffic signals by educating the people on traffic rules, road etiquette, and responsible behaviour. They spoke with the people and tried to raise awareness by holding placards. The commuters watched the students spreading awareness with admiration and engaged with them, appreciating their efforts. The students encouraged the road users to follow traffic rules, to use helmet along with other road safety measures. The activity was conducted in a disciplined manner. The students were accompanied by Ms Yogita Yadav, Ms Shirish Sant, Ms Smitha Rakesh, Ms Shaheen Chaiwala, Ms Amruta Kadam, Mr Jason George and Mr Amar Gurung.
