Roots and Riches Club Explores the Legacy of Shivaji Maharaj at Shivsrushti Theme Park
Second Club Activity Report – 28th June 2025
On a bright and pleasant Saturday morning, 28th June 2025, the enthusiastic members of the Roots and Riches Club embarked on an unforgettable journey to Shivsrushti Theme Park, located at Ambegaon Budruk near Pune. This was the club’s second activity of the year,
designed to immerse students in the rich tapestry of Maratha history and the inspiring life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
The students reported to school at their usual time, buzzing with excitement and curiosity. By 8:30 AM, the group set off for the park, ready to step back in time and relive the glorious era of one of India’s greatest warrior kings. Upon arrival, they were greeted by the majestic
entrance of Shivsrushti — a gateway to history, culture, and valor.
As the students walked through the themed sections of the park, they were enthralled by life- sized exhibits, sound-and-light shows, and dramatic recreations of key moments from Shivaji Maharaj’s life — from his childhood at Shivneri Fort to daring escapes, strategic conquests, and the establishment of Swarajya. The vivid storytelling and interactive displays sparked deep interest and admiration among the students.
The experience wasn’t just educational; it was deeply emotional and inspiring. Students found themselves reflecting on the values of courage, leadership, and patriotism embodied by Shivaji Maharaj. The guides at the park added depth to the experience with engaging
narratives and anecdotes that brought history alive.
Around midday, students took a short break to enjoy light snacks. They also relished their packed lunches, seated in shaded garden areas.
By 2:30 PM, the group returned to school, tired but enriched. The smiles on their faces reflected not just enjoyment but a sense of pride in their heritage.
This visit to Shivsrushti was more than just a field trip — it was a journey into the heart of Maharashtra’s glorious past. The activity successfully fulfilled the Roots and Riches Club’s mission of helping students connect with their roots while nurturing a sense of cultural
appreciation and historical awareness.
