Report on Visit to the National War Memorial
Roots and Riches Club – Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Pune

The Roots and Riches Club of Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Pune, organized an educational visit to the National War Memorial, Pune, on Saturday, 22nd November 2025. A total of 56 students, accompanied by 12 teachers, participated in this enriching activity.
Students reported to school at 7:30 a.m., and the buses departed at 8:00 a.m. The visit aimed to help students understand India’s military history, commemorate the sacrifices of our soldiers, and develop a sense of gratitude and national pride.
Upon reaching the memorial, students were guided through various galleries and displays highlighting major wars, heroic stories, and the contributions of the Indian Armed Forces. They observed the statues, war equipment, photographs, and the flame dedicated to the martyrs. Tour guide Mrs Bhosale ,explained the historical significance of each section, and students actively engaged by asking questions and noting key information.
The solemn atmosphere at the memorial helped students reflect on the bravery and dedication of the soldiers who laid down their lives for the nation. The visit was both informative and inspiring, fostering awareness and respect for India’s defence forces.
The group departed from the memorial at 11:00 a.m. and reached the school by 11:45 a.m. The activity was successfully conducted and proved to be a valuable learning experience for all participants.
