“Field Trip to Supermarket”

Experiential learning holds immense importance as it provides a holistic and engaging approach to education that aligns with their developmental needs.
Promoting the concept that learning should not be confined to the classroom but rather be based on experience, Vikhe Patil Memorial School Pune organized an educational field trip to Urban Supermarket in the first week of September 2024 for the students of Sr. KG.
The children arrived with great excitement and curiosity. They were greeted by the friendly staff of the supermarket. The teachers helped them explore various sections of the supermarket. They were encouraged to identify different products and their usage. Children were amazed to see the variety of grains on display.
The highlight of the trip was the visit to the toy and stationery section. The children’s eyes lit up as they explored the aisles filled with colourful toys, books and school supplies. To give the children a taste of a real experience, they were taken to the checkout counters wherein each child observed how items were scanned and bills prepared. The joy of the children was seen when the
staff of the supermarket provided them with goodies at the time of their exit.
There was The field trip to Urban Supermarket was a resounding success, providing students with an educational and enjoyable experience outside the classroom. A total of 114 enthusiastic Sr KG students participated in this meaningful activity.
The trip not only helped them understand the concept of a supermarket but also enhanced their observation skills and social interactions. The children returned to school with smiles on their faces, excitedly sharing their favourite moments from the trip with their parents and peers.
