Topic: “Eco friendly decorations- decorative pieces”
Date: – Friday 21st November, 2025
Venue: – Respective classrooms
Participants: 140-145 students
Teachers involved: Class Teachers–, Mrs. Ashita Pardeshi, Ms.Nandita Kusurkar, Ms. Renuka Wable, Ms. Mrinalini Rao.
Objectives:
- To create beautiful, temporary or permanent decorative articles using materials that are either recycled from household waste or naturally sourced, promoting creativity and environmental awareness.
- To practice 3R’s- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – Prioritize using existing materials rather than buying new ones.
- Natural Materials: Incorporate biodegradable elements like plants, flowers, and jute.
- Avoid Plastic: Minimize the use of single-use plastics, including plastic streamers or confetti and take initiative to reduce carbon foot print.
5.Creativity: Encourage participants to use their imagination to create unique items, adding a personal touch.
6.Reduce dependency and cultivate an independent approach to create decoration with personal touch.
Eco-friendly decoration is a practical and attractive way to create sustainable living environments. By choosing sustainable materials, energy-efficient solutions, and incorporating nature, individuals can contribute to a healthier planet while enjoying beautiful spaces. This approach not only benefits the environment but also enriches personal spaces with creativity and care. REuse, REcycle, REfuse has become the need of the hour. In sync with the above mantra, the students of Class7 were motivated to use only sustainable materials as its highly environment friendly to make ‘eco- friendly decorative pieces like wall hangings, drawings using colour pencil shavings small table mats using wool, pencil stands and holders.
To underline the importance of sustainable resources, the young minds were encouraged ‘to learn by doing’ Students were guided and encouraged by the teachers to produce good quality eco-friendly art work as far as possible. They came up with creative ideas to create attractive eco- friendly art pieces in different shapes and sizes.
Students seemed to be highly motivated and excited as this was an individual activity. It was a learning curve with an element of fun in it. Student enjoyed the activity at the fullest.
