Visit to DLRC school

10 students of Vikhe Patil Memorial school visited the exhibition at DLRC school, Pashan on 21 November, 2024. As soon as the students reached the place, they were welcomed by the teachers there and 2 buddies were appointed to take the students around the school. The
school was situated on a farm and is carefully designed with eco-friendly elements to inculcate sustainable practices.

To begin with, students observed all the plants planted by the DLRC students themselves. Classrooms were open and made with bamboo or wood with mud floors. DLRC is proud to have bio toilets with a flush-less system which advocates its zero-waste discharge policy.
These bins, alongside the biogas system, convert biomass into manure which is used as fertiliser for the beds.

Students visited all the stalls beginning with the Literature corner, Primary Thematics, the Play garden, the Art corner, etc. All the exhibits were put up beautifully and they were all made by the students themselves. The Math corner was very interesting which had lot of
puzzles and problem-solving concepts for students. Students learnt a new concept of ‘Kaprekar’s constant’ in the Math corner. The art corner had many serene and impressive paintings done by the students and the teachers. The Science and Humanities exhibits were
all hands-on projects done by children themselves through which concepts have been taught to them. There were lot of subject integrated activities and projects exhibited by the students. The integrated projects of Social studies along with Art and Math were really very inspiring.
The visit concluded by the toy show put up by one of their teachers which had really good educative toys and conceptual learning that was taught through the toys.

DLRC, being the experiential learning school have education that enables children and young adults to hone their full potential and believe in their power to produce positive change. The program combines academic rigour with the joys of learning, all from a green, sustainable
campus. Our students thoroughly enjoyed the visit and had a lovely experience and learnt a lot about experiential learning.
