  1. INTRODUCTION

As part of the Kaushal Bodh Initiative, various activities were conducted to develop students’ awareness and practical understanding of water conservation, water management and sustainable use of water resources. The programme included classroom interaction, audio-visual learning, field experience, household surveys, creative activities, role play and assessment.

  1. OBJECTIVES

The programme aimed to create awareness about water conservation and water scarcity, introduce students to water auditing and dams, develop survey and data-collection skills, and encourage responsible use of water through practical and creative learning.

  1. ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED
  2. Water Conservation and Water Audit
    11th April 2026 | 49 Students
    Resource Person: Mr. Rakesh Borse, Assistant Engineer, Municipal Water Department

Mr. Rakesh Borse explained the importance and uses of water, water scarcity in Maharashtra, major dams in and around Pune, and the process of conducting a school water audit. Students were also shown short videos on saving and conserving water.

  1. Field Visit to Varasgaon and Panshet Dams
    13th June 2026 | 34 Students

Students gained experiential learning about water storage, dams, environmental conservation and hydroelectric power generation. They observed how stored and flowing water is utilized for water management and electricity generation.

  1. Household Water Survey and Creative Activities
    27th June 2026 | 31 Students

Students prepared a water-survey questionnaire in Excel using the Kaushal Bodh textbook and conducted surveys in five families. They also participated in poster making, bookmark making and tree-chart activities to promote water-conservation messages.

  1. Role Play
    8th August 2026 | 31 Students

Students were divided into five groups of six and presented role plays on water conservation and management. The activity developed teamwork, communication, creativity and confidence.

  1. ASSESSMENT

Students were assessed through a written test, viva voce, continuous observation, portfolios and scrapbooks. Assessment focused on their understanding, participation, practical work, creativity, communication and application of learning.

  1. LEARNING AND CONCLUSION

The programme enhanced students’ understanding of water conservation, water auditing and responsible water use while developing observation, communication and teamwork skills. It encouraged students to adopt water-saving practices and recognize water conservation as a shared responsibility.
