Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Dr. Padmashree Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil

The Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Pune celebrated the birth anniversary of a great visionary leader Padmashree Dr. Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil on 11 th August 2022.
The birth anniversary celebration of Padmashree began with the lighting of the lamp and floral tributes by Principal Ms. Mrinalini and Vice Principal Mr. Amol Patil. Students of Std IX conducted the assembly which began with the prayer, thought for the day, some interesting facts on Padmashree’s life and the news headlines. 11 th August also being celebrated as ‘Rakshabandhan’, students narrated the significance of this auspicious day.
The choir singers of std III & IV enthralled everyone with their melodious rendition of ‘Everything I am’. Middle school choir singers presented a devotional song ‘Tum Asha Vishwas Hamare’ accompanied by live music provided by students of various classes and a hymn ‘Great is thy faithfulness’ under the guidance of the music teachers.
For adding more color to the celebrations, an interesting talk show – “Coffee with the Board” was shown to the students, teachers and the staff of CMRD. The same premiered on YouTube on 11 th August 8:00 am. In the video our beloved Chairman, Dr. Ashok Vikhe Patil, Trustee & Secretary Dr. Manoj Narwade and Joint Secretary Ms. Nandini Patil fondly remembered the contributions of the founding father to the society which continue to inspire generations. A rapid fire round played with the dignitaries also caught the attention of the audience.
The celebrations continued with an array of activities across standards. Pre- Primary section were shown an elaborate presentation on his life’s achievements. Children paid their respects to the founder at his memorial statue. The students of
Std I, showcased their artistic talent through a colouring activity while the students of Std II drew their school and colored it beautifully. A doodling activity was conducted for the students of Std III to emphasize on the fact that learning can be fun.
The students of Std IV & V participated in a drawing competition on the theme titled ‘Padmashree – A Source of Inspiration’. It was sheer joy to watch the students recreate the milestone events from Padmashree’s life onto art sheets and caption them. The second activity was ‘Eco Friendly Rakhi Making’ wherein the students crafted amazing rakhis using ecofriendly material. As a part of climate change and to create responsible attitude: Essay and Elocution competitions were conducted across middle school. Students of Std IX & X prepared a Career Genogram and Vision Board. Short term goals to achieve the vision were displayed by students in a very creative manner. A documentary based on Padmashree Vithalrao Vikhe Patil, was shown to students of Std XI & XII which made them aware of the significant contributions of Padmashree to the society. The students also engaged themselves enthusiastically in poster making and slogan writing on the theme of Founder’s Day.
The eventful day ended on a sweet note with coconut barfi being distributed to all the students in Padmashree’s memory.
