Procedure
Level 1: Water Activated LED Diya
– Tape all cells together to form a cell.
– Make the connections of LED.
– Place the setup in the foam box.
– Put the diya in water.
# Material used: LED, wires, foam ring, foam disc, coin cells
2. Remote controlled Robo racer car.
– Follow the diagram and make the connections of the DPDT switch
# Materials used: DC geared motors, wheels, plywood boards, clamps, nuts, bolts, wires, DPDT
switches, box, cell
Level 2: 1. Automatic Street Lighting System.
– Put the components through the holes in the PCB according to the circuit board.
– Solder the components on the PCB.
– Connect the LED and the cell
# Materials used: Resistors, LED, transistor, foam piece, LDR, cell, PCB
2. Kangaroo Robot
– Connect the switch, connector and motor
– Connect the PVC pieces to the motor
– Fix the L shaped strip on the motor
– Fix the switch and battery
# Materials used: PVC pipe pieces, nuts, bolts, DC motor, switch, battery, wire fitting strip
Level 3: Arduino based LED blinking.
– Connect the Arduino board to the computer using cables.
– Verify and upload the code.
– Now make the connections as shown using the jumper wires on the breadboard
– Connect 9V battery to the Arduino board
#Material used: 9V battery, LEDs, resistors, breadboard, Arduino board, Connector
Report of the sessions:
Level 1: Water Activated LED Diya
– Students followed the procedure to make the diya and understood that water is a conductor. They also learn to do the basic connections.
2. Remote controlled Robo racer car.
– Students understood the basic of a robotics and movement in the robots. They learnt about switches and their connections
Level 2: 1. Automatic Street Lighting System.
– Students constructed the light. They understood the working of a transistor and LDR.
2. Kangaroo Robot
– Students understood the basics of a robot and constructed the Kangaroo robot.
Level 3:Arduino based LED blinking.
– Students learnt the basics of Arduino programming and made a sequence of blinking LED.
The students were very enthusiastic and excited to do all the activities. They enjoyed all the activities.
