Activity No 4: Field visit to Mahavir Jain Vidyalaya
Objectives:
To help the students be in tune with the natural environment around them.
To provide an opportunity to the students to enjoy the serenity and tranquility amid the hustle and bustle of the city.
To help students understand the blended impact of natural and cultural environment by using sustainable practices.
‘Time spent among trees is never wasted time’
‘In the woods we return to reason and faith’.
The fourth outdoor activity scheduled on 28 th January 2023 for the students of the Eco club was a field visit to Mahavir Jain Vidyalaya campus located on the BMCC road which is a mini hill station amidst the heart of the city. The entire trip through the lush green trees along with a brief, intermittent insightful talks by Mr. Yuvraj Shah not only helped the students get information but also indulged them to savoring the pristine locale which was a respite thoroughly enjoyed by the students.
From nature trail up the hillock, a visit to the jungle book library, walk on the London bridge, luxuriant terrace garden, to a brief hangout in a tree house, every aspect of the trip helped the students get hands -on-learning on how to expand our natural environment by upcycling discarded yet reusable materials like pots, commodes, coconut shells, tyres of all sizes, cycles and cycle tyres, shoes, pipes to name a few to recreative reuse.
The activity was overall an enriching as well as a rewarding one for all the members of the club.
