Introduction
The cadets of Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Pune enthusiastically participated in the NCC Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC 723) held from 28th November to 7th December 2025 at the 2 MH Battalion Headquarters, S.B. Road, Pune. The camp aimed to develop discipline, leadership, teamwork, and practical skills among cadets.
Camp Activities
Throughout the 10-day camp, cadets took part in a variety of training activities conducted by the NCC instructors. These activities helped them gain knowledge, confidence, and a sense of responsibility. Major activities included:
- Weapon Training & Firing Practice
Cadets were trained in handling basic weapons and participated in supervised firing sessions. They learned about safety measures, aiming techniques, and the fundamentals of marksmanship.
- Drill & March Past
Daily drill practice was conducted to improve coordination, discipline, and parade etiquette. Cadets performed various drill movements and practiced march-past with precision.
- Map Reading & Field Craft
Cadets were introduced to map reading techniques, identification of symbols, understanding directions, and basic navigation skills. Field craft sessions taught them observation, camouflage, and survival techniques.
- Physical Training & Games
Physical training sessions, yoga, and group games helped improve stamina, teamwork, and fitness levels.
- Lectures & Motivational Sessions
Cadets attended sessions on leadership, national integration, social responsibility, disaster management, and the importance of NCC in nation-building.
Cadets’ Experience
The cadets performed all their duties with sincerity and dedication. They actively participated in each activity and shared their experiences with great enthusiasm. Many expressed positive thoughts about the discipline, teamwork, and confidence they gained during the camp. The camp helped them build strong friendships and develop a deep respect for the values of NCC.
