Parent Orientation for the Academic Year 2025-26
An orientation meeting was scheduled on 10 th April 2025, Thursday for Std IX & X in the seminar hall and AV room.
The objectives of the orientation were to
– familiarise with the changes in curriculum and assessment pattern.
– understand the discipline policies of the school.
Mrs Jyothi Menon, Section coordinator of Secondary, introduced the staff allotted for various subjects in Std 9 & 10. She also introduced the cocurricular and Physical education teachers.
Mrs Menon further presented that there is no change in curriculum for Std 10, and the rationalised syllabus will be continued. There are changes in Std 9 Mathematics and Science syllabus, wherein syllabus included has to be covered as formative assessments only. To equip with 21 st century skills, competency- based questions also will be included in the curriculum.
Principal Mrinalini Ma’am addressed the parents and emphasised the importance of regular studies and urged parents to control the usage of social media. The team handling ERP system was also introduced and parents were motivated to explore the new ERP system.
The school counsellor Ms. Mrunmayee Harshe explained the discipline policy of the school in detail and various recommendations were discussed. Behavioural issues pertaining to the section and the consequences for the same were a part of the presentation. Ms. Mrunmayee also spoke about certain must do’s and don’ts for parents so as to build a strong partnership with the school with a view to have a meaningful influence in the students’ lives. Disconnect being the most major issue in most student’s problems, Ms.Mrunmayee discussed about causes of being disconnected and ways to connect with teens in detail.
Mrs Menon proposed the vote of thanks and encouraged parents to work hand in hand to inspire, support, and empower the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and innovators.
