Std IV and V – December month Activity – Christmas Fiesta
Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. People spread the message of Christmas — Love, Joy and Cheer.
The traditional colours of Christmas decorations are red, green, and gold. Red symbolizes the blood of Jesus, which was shed in his crucifixion; green symbolizes eternal life, and in particular the evergreen tree, which does not lose its leaves in the winter; and gold is the first colour associated with Christmas, as one of the three gifts of the Magi – the three wise Kings, symbolizing royalty. The tradition has then been followed till date which is now practised as the ‘Joy of Giving’ to the less fortunate ones focusing on their needs.
The main objective of the Christmas themed December activity was to encourage students to think creatively and innovate with eco-friendly materials, promote the concept of recycling and upcycling, showcasing the skill of creativity. It was also to make the children feel joyous
and excited and getting the school environment enriched with positive energy of happiness and celebration.
The students created useful and creative decorations to light up the spirit of Christmas which included Christmas trees, Christmas lights, Nativity scenes, garlands, wreaths, mistletoe, and holly. Children from different faiths participated in decoration and celebration practising unity in diversity.
The students of Std IV and V enthusiastically participated in making the Christmas decoration singing along the Christmas carols to make the festive mood come alive.
