Report of the event ‘Swar Shakti’ 2024-25
Go green they say with heart and mind,
To leave a gentler world behind,
From simple steps to grand designs,
To heal the earth, our tasks align
So, take the pledge, let’s make it clear,
To honour all we hold so dear
For every step, a world restored,
In shades of green, our hopes are stored.
In the light of this green plea, Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Pune adroitly hosted the event ‘Swar Shakti’. Swar Shakti, an Inter School Indian Music Singing Competition was held on Saturday 31 st August, 2024 from 9:30 am to 12 noon in the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Junior Block. The competition which is in it’s second year was initiated to mark the Birth Anniversary of Padmashree Dr Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil. It aims to provide a platform to the young talent of Grades IV and V and to help schools bond through songs and music. The
theme of Swar Shakti was ‘Harit Utsav’, Go green… fostering a green earth towards a better tomorrow, which underscored the importance of environmental sustainability to preserve and protect our planet. The event saw nine schools participating to win the Swar Shakti rolling
trophy.
Ms Ketaki Menon and Ms Akshata Deshpande had been the esteemed judges of the event. The event began with the Vice Principal, VPMS Pune, Mr Amol Patil paying a floral tribute to Padmashree Dr Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil. The judges were then felicitated by the hands of the
Vice Principal. The serene and beautiful green ambience especially created for the event established the mood and added a vibe to the celebration. The inaugural Indian contemporary dance, set the tone for the event. The nine performing schools took it further and had the
audience captivated by their soulful, melodious and enthralling presentations on the theme of Harit Utsav. The performers demonstrated a high level of dedication and passion for their craft. Thereafter, the beatbreakers of VPMS, the host school cast a spell on the audience as
they rendered an instrumental piece on Raag Hansdhwani through instruments and percussion.
The judges had been all praises about the event and appreciated each participating school for their performance. The winners were announced and felicitated by the Vice Principal, Mr Amol Patil.

The participating schools too were awarded the certificates. The event Swar Shakti was a resounding success, providing an excellent platform for students to showcase their musical abilities. The event not only celebrated the students’ talent but also fostered a sense of
community and encouragement among participants.
