A skill education session was conducted for Std VIII students under the theme “Work with Machines and Materials” to provide students with practical exposure to basic tools and materials.
Students were introduced and guided on the safe use of cutting tools. They learned the correct techniques for cutting wood, including proper grip, control, and safety precautions. Emphasis was placed on careful handling of tools to prevent injuries, with students being provided with safety gloves and goggles. As part of the activity, each student designed and created a wooden keychain by cutting and shaping the sheet.
Overall, the activity was successful in blending learning with creativity. It provided students with valuable practical skills and boosted their confidence in working with simple machines and materials.
