Report on Mushroom Cultivation Activity (2026)

Title: Mushroom Cultivation Activity – Life Cycle of Mushroom

Objective:
To develop a clear understanding of the life cycle of mushrooms and the process of their cultivation through observation, discussion, creativity, and active participation

Activity Description:
The activity commenced with an informative video that explained the life cycle of mushrooms, focusing on key stages such as spores, mycelium, gills, and the fruiting body. As this marked the first Skill Activity of the academic year, students displayed great excitement and enthusiasm from the very beginning.

This was followed by an engaging group discussion where students actively shared their ideas, asked thoughtful questions, and supported one another in understanding the concept.

Chart Work & Presentation:
Students worked collaboratively in groups to create neat and colourful charts titled “Life Cycle of Mushroom.” The stages—Spores → Mycelium → Fruiting Body → Spores—were illustrated with clarity, proper labelling, and logical sequencing.

Each group presented their work with confidence and clarity. The presentations reflected strong teamwork, coordination, and a deep understanding of the topic. Students communicated their ideas effectively and responded to questions with confidence.

Student Engagement & Reflection:
Students demonstrated excellent coordination and teamwork throughout the activity. They shared knowledge, contributed ideas, and supported each other in completing the task successfully.

The creative representation of the life cycle encouraged imaginative thinking and made learning more meaningful. Students also explored fungal life in detail, including different types of mushrooms, their characteristics, and their uses.

An especially notable aspect was students taking initiative, such as creating quizzes for their peers, which made the session more interactive and enjoyable. The concepts were explained in a simple and clear manner, ensuring that all learners were able to understand without difficulty

Conclusion:
The Mushroom Cultivation Activity was highly engaging, informative, and successful in achieving its objectives. The enthusiasm of the students, especially as part of their first Skill Activity of the year, added great energy to the session. Overall, the activity was a perfect blend of learning and enjoyment, leaving students with valuable knowledge and a deeper appreciation for the fascinating world of fungi.
